HDS Achieves ISO 9001:2000 Certification
HDS Achieves ISO 9001:2000 Certification 2006-12-01 HDS (Hyundai Shipping) announced today that it has achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification with KAB accreditation. This is the result of HDS’s effort to develop its quality management system for a long time. ISO 9001 is a series of internationally recognized standards developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO) which define requirements for the implementation of quality systems in operational procedures. The standards form the basis for a quality management system concentrating on customer focus, leadership and continuous improvement of quality within an organization. The ISO certification quality assurance standards requirements include procedural changes, special training, upgraded documentation and adjustments to operating practices in a number of production processes. ISO 9001:2000 is the latest version of ISO 9001. To award ISO 9001:2000 certification HDS has evolved its business process by reorganizing all of the customer-related data and documents which had been controlled by each departments. Moreover, HDS’s warehouse located in Ilsan got ISO 9001:2000certification at the same time. "Receiving the ISO 9001:2000 certification demonstrates our commitment to quality and to enhancing customer satisfaction through our continued improvement process” Albert Cho, HDS’s CEO said, "This is a notable milestone for HDS. ISO-9001:2000 certification validates HDS's strong process foundation and readiness for global expansion. HDS will provide the highest level of relocation service based on the global certification system.”
