| HDS donates books to Korean School in Cairo, Egypt as its CSR program 2006-11-11 HDS - Beautiful Store donate books to Korean School in Cairo, Egypt,  “We have plenty of Korean books to read now!” l Second project of HDS’s ‘Book Donation Programs for Overseas Korean School’ l “Support to link the Islamic countries with Korea, growing to be a global brains with the support of your homeland”, said the CEO of HDS l “We’ll continue donating books throughout the world”, said the director of executive office of Beautiful Store Nov. 6th, 2006; HDS (Hyundai Shipping) and Beautiful Store jointly run its 2nd book donation project to overseas Korean school successfully. The first one was made to Argentine Korean School last June. The donation ceremony was held to celebrate the donated 2,600 books and notes with many attendances such as Dal-ho Jung, the Korean Ambassador in Egypt and Dae-Ryoun Kang, first secretary who are responsibility on education, students and parents of the school and the related persons of the two organizations on November 6th. The donated books and notes were prepared under HDS’s CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) fund and Beautiful Store’s ‘Enjoying with other persons’ fund and delivered by HDS’s own distribution system. To meet the needy children’s interest sharply, HDS and Beautiful Store had cooperated and discussed with the school for a ling time to make a perfect book donation list which are definitely different from the previous book donation programs made up with old and needless books. So the ed books are expected to be very helpful not only to the students who had suffered from a short supply of Korean books but also to Egyptian colleagues who wants to learn Korean. “I’m standing in front of you as a sphinx which guards your hope and dream now,” said Albert Cho, the CEO of HDS, “Support to link the Islamic countries with Korea, growing to be a global brains with the support of your homeland” “Books allow students to expand their experiences and this program is making our dreams by sharing the books throughout the world”, said Gang-Baek Lee, the director of executive office of Beautiful Store, the partner of the program. Jung-cheol Bae, the principal of Cairo Korean School expressed the gratitude saying that the book donation was like an oasis to the school and Korean residents’ society in Egypt which had had a thirst for Korean books. In addition to continuing the ‘Book Donation Programs for Overseas Korean School’ to disadvantaged Asian countries next time, HDS and Beautiful Stores announced that they already had an initial plan and objectives also. |
